Tribaldos co-wrote the piece with two seismologists from Scripps Institution of Oceanography at the University of California, San Diego. The authors are part of a collaboration between Berkeley Lab, LLNL, Rice University, and UC San Diego that was developed to explore the potential of distributed acoustic sensing deployed on dark fiber for measuring seismic waves traveling through the Earth’s subsurface and how that information can be used to characterize geothermal systems.
