Dr. Wenming Dong is a research Scientist in the Energy Geosciences Division, Earth and Environmental Sciences Area (EESA) at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL). His research focuses on multi-scale biogeochemical processes, reactions, analyses & characterization. He has extensive training & experience in conducting and developing biogeochemical experiments on topics: 1) chemical controls on clay swelling and microstructural changes, 2) Serpetinization experiments for optimal hydrogen (H2) production, 3) characterization and extraction of critical materials, 4) exploring correlations between biogeochemical river signals and climate events, and 5) geochemical controls on the speciation and transport of contaminants and nutrients. He is also managing an EESA’s geochemical & analytical facility including a state-of-the-art Agilent HPLC-ICP-MS system.
